Astria is a professional Argentine Tango performer. She was born in Wiesbaden, Germany and is currently based in Europe after working in New York City for several years. Astria was exposed to Tango for the first time at the early age of 7, when it already fascinated her but only after finishing her studies in Modern Dance in 2015 she started studying Tango with the renowned Dardo Galletto. Shortly after she started dancing in his Tango/ Contemporary Dance Company, Dardo Galletto Dance.
Besides her intensive training with Dardo Galletto, Astria has taken classes and studied with several world class dancers from Argentina, such as Sabrina and Ruben Veliz, Gabriel Misse and Analía Centurion.
Astria’s first debuts of Argentine Tango were for the Dardo Galletto Dance Company in 2016, performing with Dardo Galletto himself as well as with other dancers from the company. In 2018 she was invited by Gabriel Sala, to perform with him and the world renowned Orquesta La Juan D’Arienzo at the International Maifestspiele in Wiesbaden, Germany.
From 2018- January 2023 Astria has been dancing with Andres Bravo, one of New York City’s top Tango Dancers. Together they became the 2019 official US Tango Salon Champions and Tango Salon Champions at the SoCal Tango Championship and Festival in March 2019. They have performed and taught in NY’s most prestigious Milongas such as the Astoria Tango Club, Tango La Nacional, Nocturne Tango Salon and Mala Leche, in San Diego’s Milonga Nocturna and in Mainz, Germany.
They have performed in Luis Bravo’s (director of Forever Tango) production “Cumparsita”, toured the US with the show “Tango Argentina” directed by Guillermo De Fazio and Giovanna Dan, furthermore they have been part of the productions “Tango+Tango”, “Gotham Tango” and “Viva El Tango” at the Thalia Theater in NYC, the “Spring Fever Tango Cabaret” show in New Orleans, “Souls of Tango” in New York and “ImpacTango” in LA. They were part of the companies Tango For All Dance Company and Accent Dance NYC, with whom they performed regularly throughout New York.
In 2020, Astria produced 4 editions of her own virtual show, “3 Esquinas Online Tango Show”, it’s 5th edition, “Alegría” was performed live in NYC in 2021.
In 2023 Astria has relocated to Europe, currently Wiesbaden, Germany, where she is available for group lessons, private lessons and performances.
She is currently performing and teaching with Mariano Galeano (Arg), with whom she has worked in Europe, the US and Argentina.
